Heavy-Duty Jacking Castors Keep Coastal Defence Moulds Moving

Our engineering client was tasked with the maintenance and refurbishment of a large fleet of concrete moulds used in the production of Xbloc® coastal defence systems. These substantial moulds are essential to creating interlocking concrete blocks that help protect harbour walls, breakwaters, and other coastal structures from erosion and wave impact.

The client approached Sinclair & Rush with a clear brief: to supply robust, adjustable jacking castors capable of withstanding the demanding working conditions — particularly the harsh coastal environment and regular concrete overspill from the moulding process.

Following technical consultation and field testing, we recommended our Heavy Duty JKS27 Jacking Castors, each rated for 1,000 kg, fitted with 200mm wheels and Ball Journal Bearings for exceptional strength and longevity. To further enhance operability, we also incorporated high-strength manual jacking handles for precise height adjustment.

The castors significantly improved the mobility of the moulds between production stations and proved exceptionally resilient —even in challenging conditions.
